Pasture Axis Deer

Axis deer, or chital, are medium-sized, golden-colored deer with persistent white spots, native to India and Sri Lanka.

Introduced to Texas in the 1930s, they have established large populations, particularly in the central and southern parts of the state, where they are considered an abundant exotic ungulate. They are known for their year-round breeding, excellent meat, and being a favorite target for hunters.

We invite you to join us and watch the beauty of this animal in person. Axis are known to hide and be elusive to hunt. Join the challenge to capture this animal running around our pastureland..
